Let the Meditations of my Heart

Writer's picture: De'La McClendonDe'La McClendon

“O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.”-Isaiah 25:1

“Blessed be God, even the Father our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort.”- 2 Corinthians 1:3

There is so much in these simple statements that my soul finds it profound.

Stop.

Stop and remember who God is. “Yehovah, elohiym,” “Oh Lord, thou art my God.” “Father of mercies.” “Father of Jesus Christ” our Lord, our Savior.

Reflect on ways to respond to who God is: Bless him. Praise his name. Exalt him. Abide in him.

Acknowledging why we respond: He gives us mercy. He is our comfort. He is faithful. His word is true. Therefore he is true, for he is his word.

Scriptures for meditation: •Isaiah 25:1 •Psalm 19:14 •Psalm 21 •Psalm 22:22-25 •Psalm 23 •2 Corinthians 1:3
